Privacy Policy for File Downloader
Effective Date: November 3, 2026
1. Introduction
With this Privacy Policy, we explain what information is accessed, used, and handled when you access or use the File Downloader web application and related services (referred to collectively as the "Service").
We provide this Privacy Policy in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 – General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 (as amended), and other applicable local privacy laws.
The Service operates primarily as a client-side utility designed to help you manage and download your personal files directly through your Google Drive account. Because the Service does not operate centralized user databases or store your personal files on external servers, data processing is strictly limited to the technical execution required for your active browser session.
2. Google API Services Limited Use Disclosure
The Application’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Scope of Access: The application requests restricted OAuth 2.0 scopes (such as Google Drive API access) solely to allow you to select, view, process, and download your own files.
No Storage of User Files: We do not collect, store, cache, index, or log any user files, folder structures, or file contents on external servers.
Client-Side Processing: All interactions with Google Drive occur in real time within your active browser session. Temporary tokens and file streams are processed ephemerally and are discarded immediately upon session termination.
3. What Data Do We Access or Process?
Google Account Information: If you log in or authenticate using your Google credentials via single sign-on, the application accesses basic profile information (such as your name and email address) strictly as authorized in your Google account settings, solely to facilitate the authentication process.
Selected Content: You can select, process, or download files that you choose from your Google Drive. This "Content" is accessed strictly on-demand within your browser session and is never retained, copied, or stored by the application.
Technical and Usage Data: Standard web server logs (such as IP addresses and browser language) may be processed temporarily by our hosting infrastructure (Google Sites) solely to ensure basic network security, stability, and proper delivery of web pages.
4. How Do We Use Your Data?
We use the limited technical data and authentication scope strictly to:
Perform and Provide the Service: Authenticate your session and execute file downloading and management actions requested directly by you.
Ensure Security and Prevent Abuse: Protect the Service against security threats, technical errors, and unauthorized access.
Comply with Laws: Fulfill legal obligations or respond to lawful requests from public authorities where strictly required.
5. Would Anyone Ever View Your Content?
No. Your files and Content remain entirely private. No developer or third party at File Downloader can view, access, or analyze your Google Drive files, as all data handling occurs directly inside your local browser session using your authenticated connection.
6. How Do We Disclose Your Data?
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data disclosure is limited exclusively to:
Infrastructure Providers: The application runs on secure hosting and cloud infrastructure (such as Google Sites and Google Cloud). These platforms process technical data in accordance with their own privacy standards.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court orders, or enforceable government requests to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or others.
7. How Can You Manage or Revoke Access?
You retain full control over your Google account data at all times. You can revoke the application’s access to your Google Drive data immediately by navigating to your Google Account Permissions Page.
8. Where Is Data Processed?
When you use the Service, authentication and web interface elements are hosted via cloud infrastructure. However, your actual file contents are processed locally on your computing device and streamed directly from your Google Drive account within your browser.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Although significant changes are rare, this policy may be updated as new features, technologies, or legal requirements arise. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
